The August 2006 bad storm hit our area quite hard.  Only three cottages were not affected.  Our cottage and the cottage on both sides of us.  We are very protected from the winds and the proof was during the storm.  10 of us had just spend the last 5 days at the cottage and three more adults came for the day.  We had planned to go that evening but decided to go sooner than later since the clouds were quite dark.

Our road was not affected that badly but the cottage at the end of the road - the 5 acres on the north side lost many trees.  Chipmunk Alley was really hit hard.  Most of the photos below are of Chipmunk Alley.    The man in the photos is 6'6" so the root balls are really big.  Hilton's Point North lost many trees as well.  Despite the devastation the area still looks beautiful.  When we go for walks now we have much more to look at.  There will be a lot of new growth this year.
